About Me

I am a Graphic Designer with 7 years experience in the Marketing Industry.

early years

I was always coloring, making tiny sculptures out of clay, or sketching. When it came time to go to school, I thought I’d never be able to make a career out of art, so I studied the next best subjects in my mind: Psychology and English. After undergrad, I went into child care. I worked as a Nanny, Behavioral Therapist for young children with autism, and a Preschool Teacher. Throughout all of those careers, I was always drawing for the kids; making coloring pages, sketching on lunch breaks or during nap time.

Career Pivot

I decided to go back to school in 2018 to go back to school to get my Masters in Graphic Design and Digital Media. I wanted to change career paths, and knew that specialized schooling would aid me in that. With my enrollment, I was able to land a Marketing Internship. An internship led to my Marketing Director position, and that experience opened the door to my role as Marketing Director at the Ruth Bancroft Garden.

my art

Through it all, I had my art. While I worked as a teacher, I created my Etsy shop: PseudoSarahLetters. I had my instagram, @pseudosarahletters, that I used to share my art with my community and beyond. I eventually used it to promote my products and services. Instagram is how the bulk of my clients found me. Now, I primarily sell custom artwork: embroidery, crochet, and digital illustration.

the future

I want to continue to invest in myself, my art, and my skill set. I intend to build on my experience and continue to grow as a designer and marketer. I will surround myself with good and supportive people who can help me along that path. All the while, I will continue to create my silly little art and share it with whoever will listen. I have curated an artistic and whimsical life, and I intend to keep it that way.
